As a marine biologist and scuba instructor from Nassau, I had an interesting experience at Kilpis. The hotel staff were truly helpful and friendly, creating a welcoming environment right from the start. While the price point may raise eyebrows, the location is conveniently near Kilpisjärvi services, providing stunning views right outside your window. I appreciated the cozy yet compact room - nothing extravagant, but clean and efficient. The breakfast here is noteworthy; it's complimentary and delicious, especially when compared to nearby options charging €18! The dinner also surprised me; the mountain bread was a delightful starter, and the overall dining experience was reasonable, with a great ambiance to match. Be prepared: while luxury is present in some aspects, like the ranta sauna and great views, the hotel does show signs of age. But if you plan activities like skiing or aurora watching - right at your doorstep - the value starts to shine. If you're after a blend of adventure and comfort without breaking the bank, Kilpis could be a wise choice.
